Thursday 1/26/12.    The forecast was spot on today.  The wind picked up just after sunrise and it was a steady blow with occasional gust all day.  It appears it will continue through the night.  The burgee on the forward staff looked like it was starched and the anchor line was like a banjo string.   Joe and Connie read the forecast and left for Naples yesterday to beat the winds.

There were a few who braved the wind to do some fishing.

We took a nap in the afternoon.  When we came up from the cuddy cabin we noticed the boat was really “swinging on the hook”.  I went aft to see if the small anchor (lunch hook) I put out to lessen the swing had come loose.  I mean pulled out of the bottom.  It come loose all right…It wasn’t attached to the anchor line!  The pin came out of the clevis that connects the anchor to the line.  That’s my fault because I didn’t put a piece of wire on the clevis to safety it.  So it looks like when I get to the marina we will be buying a anchor.  We still have a third anchor (larger than a lunch hook) if we need it.

Little Buddy made his daily visit.  I think he and Linda have a thing going.

The wind was so strong at sundown we couldn’t hear the Conch horn.
