Wednesday 2/15/2012 This morning Linda and I parted ways. She went to the laundry room and I finished up the depth sounder installation. Neither of us slept well last night so the afternoon found both of us passed out on the berth.
Tonight was Red Party. In keeping with a Valentine theme everybody was supposed to wear something red and bring a red food. There were lots of red shirts and shorts. The food table was ablaze with red beans and rice, red beet and cream cheese dip, cherry pie, strawberry pie, strawberries in strawberry Jello, fresh strawberries, red cabbage soup, hot wings, and the list goes on. (Kind of tough on a guy who doesn’t really like strawberry) Plus the manager, Leif, grilled up his super cheeseburgers and dogs in his red dyed hat and apron. These get-togethers are always a good time and we met some interesting folks who are really into jazz. (Kind of tough on a guy who was raised on Hank Williams and Patsy Kline) But it was fun.
Somewhere in the distance I can hear somebody playing bongos. It has nothing to do with the jazz folks we met tonight. It sounds like it’s coming from Centennial Park. There is always something going on there.
